Population Of Gir’s Asiatic Lion Up From 523 In 2015 To 674 In 2020

According to statistical data, there is an increase of 151 lions in the region compared to data of 2015. The distribution of lions has increased from an area of 22,000 sq km in 2015 to 30,000 sq km in 2020. PM Modi credited this feat to community participation. He also appreciated the officials for using state-of-the-art technology, maintaining wildlife healthcare. Authorities have been taking keen steps to minimise human-lion conflict.
